Ted Baker's Christmas beauty advent calendar will be a massive hit among fans

We've not even finished August yet and I'm already going to talk to you about Christmas, sorry. Although for any Ted Baker fan this news simply cannot wait.

It's that time of year when a number of retailers prepare to launch their beauty advent calendars and Ted Baker is the latest major designer brand to tease theirs. Beauty advent calendars have become a popular shopping staple for the countdown to the year's festivities, with many beauty lovers buying the products for themselves or as a key gifts for friends and family.

The traditional advent calendar used to be about chocolate but nowadays advent calendars have upped their game, and you can get just about anything miniaturised for 24 days, whether it be toys, makeup, perfume, skincare, or even food and alcohol.

What does catch shopper's attention every year though is the release of the beauty advent calendar and big names from the likes of Amazon, Cult Beauty, M&S to ASOS all get involved. And if last year is anything to go by, these brands will be going big, in the hopes of being crowned the 'best beauty advent calendar of 2022' and Ted Baker certainly wants to be a contender.

I got a sneak peek at their beauty advent calendar for 2022 and boy I was excited when I opened up the elegant box. Ted Baker's 2022 beauty advent calendar will be available in Boots stores on September 26, 2022, but the designer is keeping its lips sealed for now in terms of an online date.

Make sure you save the Ted Baker 2022 beauty advent calendar Boots page here for updates. The gifts that it contains however, will be trickling in online from September 1, 2022. The calendar will cost £45, the same price as last year's and the full 24 day contents can be found below our review.

Ted Baker's Christmas countdown has 24 goodies waiting behind each colourful box, from cosmetics to skincare essentials and beauty tools, as well as haircare treats and a matching scented candle for the ultimate pamper.

Priced at £45, each product works out at £1.88, which is a serious bargain as well as being a unique gift, considering some of the items are exclusive to the calendar only and are not sold separately.

The first thing that stood out for me was the beautiful smell coming from some of the boxes which I soon discovered was the violet and bergamot scent. It smells absolutely incredible and I can't get enough of it, just as well too because there's a body souffle (moisturiser), a moisturiser eye sheet mask, body wash, soap, candle and body spray all with this scent.

Bergamot is a type of citrus fruit which is native to Italy and this aroma mixed with the violet makes for a subtle, sweet note which isn't overpowering at all. I'm already half-way through the 50ml body spray which my auntie is eager to rob from my handbag.

I can't wait to light the candle for a self-care evening because honestly I want to soak in this scent. The soft pink lipstick smells like candy too.

The raspberry and orange blossom range also smells great, and has a more fruitier smell than the violet range, it's not my favourite but I'm enjoying the body wash so far. The sheet mask left my face feeling a little slimy though, because of the excess serum that was left on my face when taking the mask off. I left the mask on for over the recommended time of 10-15 minutes too so I wasn't too impressed with this one.

The mini eye-shadow palette has soft, pink and brown colours which are perfect for my pale skin and a good warm colour for the autumn/winter season ahead. I also particular like the inclusion of the deep red nail polish and cuticle oil which will help me save some pennies from getting my nails done at the salon.

I actually needed some new tweezers and a nail file so I was pleased when I discovered these were included too. They have a very pretty design and, like the body spray, great to pop into the handbag or for travelling.

I don't tend to curl my eyelashes so was a bit disappointed to have that included but I know a lot of other people do. My only criticism would be that there was a lot of fabric items included, like the exfoliating bath mitt, make up remover pad and cosmetic headband.

Out of those three I would probably use the headband the most and maybe the bath mitt. The remover pad could have been replaced with something else, it would have been good to have mini mascara instead to go with the eyeshadow palette and double ended brush.

Overall I love all of the products that are included and they will last me a while. I think the Ted Baker calendar would make a great gift for someone, plus I truly believe it's a bargain given the amount that's included because you could spend £30 on a normal beauty gift set at Ted Baker, so why not spend £45 and get all of the below?
