Meanwhile, the Citizens and Farmers (C&F) Bank Cash Mob will be at the market giving away $5 to the first 50 customers towards their purchases. C&F Bank hosts a cash mob the 3rd Saturday of each month and posts their appearances on their social media pages.
It’s “our way of supporting local, small business and giving back to our community,” said Maureen Medlin, C&F Bank director of marketing. “When our local businesses win, everyone wins.”
The New Kent Lions Club will also be at the farmers market selling Vidalia onions to help fund its programs.
Also new this year, the Little Free Pantry of New Kent will be collecting donations of home care and cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, non-perishable food and money. A full list of acceptable and non-acceptable donations is listed on the Little Free Pantry–New Kent Facebook page.
