Leverett estate of Yankee Candle founder Michael J. Kittredge II for sale
Daughter of Yankee Candle founder Michael J. Kittredge is back on TikTok answering more users questions about the colossal estate.
The home located at 113 Juggler Meadow in Leverett, has two car barns with space for a total of 80 classic cars, a concert space where Hall & Oates once performed, 16 bedrooms, a nine-hole golf course, pool, indoor water park and an two-story arcade is currently on the market going for a whopping $23 million.
One of Kittredge’s daughters, Kylie Kittredge, gave her TikTok followers “realistic insight” to what it was like growing up in the home. But one pressing question from the internet remained unanswered — what does the house smell like?
“It was the most popular question on my last video,” Kittredge told TikTok. “And I totally get it.”
Despite the home being a product of the manufacturer and retailer of famous scented candles, Kittredge told followers “we didn’t really burn scented candles in our house.”
She said on the rare occasion they did, it would be one candle in the kitchen with a popular scent like Balsam.
“For the most part if we were using candles it would be unscented candles.”
Their reason — the family didn’t want anything smelling too overwhelming when entering the house.
“We had a lot of wood floors and wood walls and fireplaces so the house itself had a very cozy smell,” she said.
But Kittredge did say that one smell in particular stands out when thinking of the house. Spoiler, it’s not a candle scent. It was actually Bvlgari’s green tea bath products.
“In all of our guest rooms and in the spa, that was like the household scent that we always used. So for shampoo, conditioner and body wash, that’s what we had and it was a very fresh, clean smell.”
